Family Pays Tribute to Dewi Evans Following Campsite Death
The family of Dewi Aeron Evans, a 25-year-old man from Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr near Corwen, have released a statement following his death at a campsite during the Royal Welsh Show. Describing him as a "beloved and dear son, brother and grandson," they said his passing will be a "huge loss" to the family and the community in Uwchaled. Incident Details at Penmaenau Farm
Dewi Evans died at Penmaenau Farm in Llanelwedd on Saturday, July 18. Dyfed-Powys Police received reports of a medical emergency at around 10:30 pm. Despite paramedics' efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Specially trained officers are supporting the family.
Arrests and Police Statement
Three men have been arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences and remain in police custody as enquiries continue. Chief Superintendent Steve Davies described the incident as tragic and reassured the public that the death is being treated as unexplained with no evidence of ongoing risk. Campsite Response
Penmaenau Farm Camping, one of the largest campsites used by Royal Welsh Show visitors, expressed condolences and confirmed the death was due to a medical emergency.
