Police have executed a fresh search at a flat in Glasgow's Gorbals area, exactly one year after detectives first searched the same property in connection with the murder of Graham Wright. The 38-year-old was reported missing on August 25, 2025, after he was last seen five days earlier on Cumberland Street. His dismembered body was discovered 33 miles away in Loch Lomond on September 13, 2025.
New Search at Cumberland Street
Officers were spotted conducting inquiries at a property on Cumberland Street on Thursday, July 16, 2026. The location appears to be the same flat that was searched last year as part of the murder probe. Police Scotland confirmed their presence was part of an ongoing investigation, but declined to provide further details at this stage.
Charges and Court Appearances
In October 2025, a man and a woman appeared in court accused of murdering Graham Wright. Lynda Kelly, 57, is alleged to have killed Graham at her home in Castlemilk, Glasgow, between August 20 and September 13, 2025. Court documents state that Kelly assaulted Graham, causing him to be "fatally injured," and then dismembered his body using sharply bladed and serrated instruments.
Kelly also faces a second charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice. It is alleged that she "disposed and secreted" Mr Wright's remains in various locations, including wooded areas in Castlemilk and Loch Lomond. The charge further states that she cleaned her flat and its common close with bleach, and removed, concealed, and destroyed evidence to avoid detection, arrest, and prosecution.
Co-Accused and Further Charges
David McColl, 50, also appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court accused of murder. He is accused of using sharply bladed and serrated instruments to attack Graham at the property and dismembering his body. McColl faces a second charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice, alleging he disposed of Graham's body in secret in a wooded area in Castlemilk and Loch Lomond. He also faced two breaches of bail. McColl made no plea and was remanded into custody.
Another man, John Roarty, 54, has been accused of attempting to defeat the ends of justice in connection with the case. The investigation remains active, and police have not ruled out further arrests or charges.
