Piers Morgan has responded bluntly to the news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have changed their children's school. The journalist took to X after reports emerged that the Sussexes had pulled Archie and Lilibet from their new British schools just days into the term due to security concerns, posting: "The circus continues.."
Security Concerns Behind the Switch
The decision to change schools was made because of concerns over security. The children are now attending a different school in the same area, with the switch based solely on the practicalities of transporting them to and from school in convoy with security vehicles. It reportedly became challenging just two days into the term.
The couple's security team had carried out checks of the school during the summer. The children are believed to have attended a taster session at the new school on Monday.
Official Statement from the Sussexes
A spokesman for Harry and Meghan said: "The decision for the children to move school was taken following a discussion with the family's security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements."
"The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family. This decision should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children have received there."
Morgan's Ongoing Criticism
The school change comes as Harry continues to fight for further security protection for his family following their return to the UK. Morgan's swipe is the latest in a string of jabs at the couple since they announced their return to Britain.
He was quick to slam Meghan's latest Instagram post, commenting on X: "So they demand privacy and want taxpayer-funded security to protect them... while simultaneously posting footage to social media that reveals images of the children and where they're all living? [confused emoji]."
Initially weighing in on the couple's relocation, the 61-year-old stated: "This has gone down like a sack of old rotting potatoes." Morgan persists in critiquing their "stinking hypocrisy", alleging that they had previously tarnished the monarchy and now crave the perks of royal status without the matching responsibilities.
