An 85-year-old woman and an 88-year-old man are fighting for their lives after being struck by a car outside Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. The incident occurred at approximately 3:40 p.m. on Monday, July 20, on Little France Crescent.
Details of the Incident
Police confirmed that a red Peugeot 208 struck the two pedestrians. Emergency services attended the scene, and both victims were taken to the hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
Police Appeal for Information
Sergeant Paul Ewing of Police Scotland appealed for public assistance. “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and has yet to speak to officers to please come forward,” he said. “I’d also ask those with dash-cam footage who may have been parked or driving into the area at the time to please review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”

The investigation is ongoing, and police have urged anyone with information to contact them. No arrests have been reported, and it is not yet known if any charges will be filed.
