Mum Accused of Killing and Eating Son: Horror Details

A 32-year-old woman charged with murdering her four-year-old son allegedly walked into a police station in Wyong, New South Wales, and confessed to cooking and eating parts of him. The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, turned herself in at Wyong Police Station at 4:40 PM on Saturday, prompting officers to conduct a welfare check at her home.

Police Discover Confronting Scene

While in custody, the woman allegedly told police she had eaten parts of her son. Officers who searched the property were met with an “extremely confronting” scene, according to Superintendent Chad Gillies, Tuggerah Lakes Police District Commander. Local media reported that the body of a four-year-old child, who had been “deceased for some time,” was found with significant arm and leg injuries.

Police have established a crime scene at the home in the quiet seaside suburb, about an hour-and-a-half drive north of Sydney. Homicide detectives from the state police are investigating. A forensic procedure was carried out on the woman, including a cheek swab, blood sample, and a sample of her nails or matter from under her nails. The order stated that this was “not for the purpose of obtaining suspect DNA.”

Community Shocked

Superintendent Gillies said: “My priority at the moment now is to work through the investigation with detectives to understand exactly what happened and why it happened, and importantly, as well, providing welfare to all the police that attended last night and through the investigation. Whenever a child is a victim of violent crime and whenever a child is murdered, it strikes at the core of community. That’s why it’s absolutely important we work through this methodically, we try to understand what’s happened, why it happened. From my perspective, we owe that to that little boy to make sure that we get the exact circumstances and present them to the court in due course, and that is the focus over the coming days and weeks for investigators.”

One neighbour told The Daily Telegraph the boy was often seen playing with his red toy car and a Staffordshire bull terrier puppy. “He was a little angel,” the neighbour said. “I can’t believe he’s dead. He was a good kid, a bit of a rug rat at times, like all kids that age. I loved that kid. Sometimes he would be up running around until 9-10pm.” Another local described the boy as “so happy go lucky, a really good kid.”

Court Appearance

The woman is due to next appear in court on September 1.
