A Florida mother accused of engaging in a sex act with her family dog has received a wave of compliments on her updated Facebook profile picture, with followers calling her "gorgeous" and a "hottie" despite the charges. Malia Nummerdor, 38, was arrested this week after her husband allegedly caught her on home security footage having sex with their pet, which is believed to be named Ranger.

Social media support amid allegations

Despite the nature of the charges, supporters have flooded Nummerdor's Facebook account with praise on her recent photo updates. Followers greeted her with comments such as "alright hottie", "so so pretty", "beautiful as always", "gorgeous eyes" and "you look pure and beautiful Malia" - the latter receiving 23 laughing reactions.

One user referenced her viral arrest photo, commenting: "Think I'm going to have to start calling you smiley", a nod to the grin she gave police during booking. Nummerdor responded to the comments with "Thank you all" and three heart emojis.

Mystery dog photos and case details

Newly-surfaced photos on her profile show multiple different dogs, leaving it unclear which pet is alleged to have been involved. Reports suggest the dog in question may be called Ranger. Nummerdor has changed her Facebook name to Mahh Lee Ahh in light of the attention, though her profile remains public.

The controversy began when Nummerdor was charged with engaging in sexual contact with an animal following a domestic investigation in Charlotte County, Florida. According to an arrest report from the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, her husband installed hidden cameras to find out who was taking money from a coin jar. While everyone in the house was reportedly aware of the cameras, the husband claimed that reviewing bedroom footage revealed video evidence of his wife engaging in intimate acts with their dog.

Husband's allegations and arrest

The husband, who has not been publicly identified, later shared the allegations on Facebook, claiming he had photo and video evidence. Police say they were shown images from the recording, and the husband granted investigators full access to his laptop.

When interviewed by police on Tuesday, Nummerdor acknowledged the bedroom video but denied any sexual misconduct, telling officers she was "just petting the dog". Her profile, which features pictures of her two sons and her husband, whom she married in 2023, also includes several photos of different dogs over the years, though authorities have not specified which animal was involved.

Nummerdor was arrested on Tuesday and booked into the Charlotte County Jail, where she gave a large grin for her mugshot. She was held on a $35,000 (£25,800) bond.

Sheriff Bill Prummell expressed disbelief over the allegations and her demeanor: "There are only a few times in my career that I have been at a loss for words. This is one of those times. I simply cannot comprehend this behavior. No animal should ever be subjected to this kind of conduct, and you can be sure that we will take action when we learn about it here in Charlotte County. And then to smile in the mugshot? I don't know what there is to smile about when you've been arrested for something as disgusting as this."
