A migrant attempting to reach Britain on a small boat has revealed that he wants to live in the UK because his criminal record will not be found by British authorities. The man, originally from Iran, made the shocking admission to an undercover Express reporter inside one of France's largest migrant camps.
Undercover Investigation Exposes Intentions
The migrant, who was secretly filmed in the Express's explosive investigation, also made alarming claims about his plans if he reaches British shores. When the undercover reporter asked whether he would work in a cannabis farm, the man responded: "No, no. Gang."
The reporter pressed further, asking: "Gang?" The migrant simply replied: "Yeah." When asked whether he would be selling drugs, the man said: "Drugs, fight, you know, stab, shoot."
Why the UK?
The migrant said he had lived in Denmark for 29 years but wants to go to the UK because it is "out of Europe… Schengen, Dublin, nothing." He explained: "So they cannot send me back to Denmark. But if I want to live in Switzerland, with my family, they’re Swiss… they send me to Denmark because Schengen, Dublin, you know?"
The reporter noted that he likely has a criminal record in Denmark. The brazen migrant replied: "Yeah, yeah. But England they cannot see."
Investigation Reveals Ease of Crossing
The Express investigation revealed the alarming speed and ease with which illegal migrants can secure a small boat crossing to England from northern France. Despite the UK handing over £662 million to tackle the border crisis, the undercover reporter infiltrated a Kurdish smuggling gang operating a sprawling migrant camp on the outskirts of Dunkirk and negotiated a dinghy crossing within just two hours.
Posing as a migrant trying to reach the UK, the reporter exposed the open criminality, illicit markets, and shocking inaction of police on the doorstep of the English Channel.
A Home Office spokesperson said Britain is "determined to investigate and lock up vile people smugglers."
