Dyfed-Powys Police are investigating a series of incidents where metal spikes have been placed on a public right of way in Carmarthenshire, causing damage to farming equipment and other vehicles. The spikes were discovered on a path next to Pembrey Road in the Kidwelly area, with multiple occurrences reported between June 5 and July 1.

Spikes Pose Risk of Injury

Officers have expressed concern that the spikes could cause serious injury to pedestrians or further damage to vehicles using the path. The public right of way is used by both locals and farmers, and the spikes have already resulted in significant damage to agricultural machinery.

Police Appeal for Information

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating a series of alleged criminal damage incidents, occurring between June 5 and July 1, in the Kidwelly area. Metal spikes were reportedly placed on the ground on a public right of way next to Pembrey Road, causing damage to farming equipment and other vehicles." The spokesperson added: "Concerns have been raised that these spikes could cause further damage or injury to people using the public right of way."
