Neil McCann apologised to the Rugby Park faithful after watching his Kilmarnock side suffer another four-goal defeat, this time at the hands of Dundee United.
The furious Ayrshire support headed for the exits with 20 minutes still remaining as Kilmarnock's defence crumbled once again. The team have now conceded 15 goals in their last four games and sit pointless at the bottom of the Premiership.
McCann's Apology and Message to Fans
McCann acknowledged the fans are in no mood for excuses but vowed his team will look to make amends when they host St Mirren on Wednesday.
He said: "Look, there's no point in me giving you lots of words here. I think everybody knows what type of person I am. That's a sore one. I've had a good chat with the boys in the dressing room. They're feeling the exact same way as me.
"The only way you can put things right is the next game, and we'll get a chance on Wednesday night against St Mirren to do that.
"Look, I think words are cheap right now for the fans. I apologise to them for what they saw today and I'll get right back at it again tomorrow.
"My message to the fans: come back Wednesday night. We'll go again and we'll try and put this right.
"In fact, I know that the boys will already be wanting to put that right. We've had a few frank words in the dressing room. They know they're much better than that and we need to go and put it right."
McCann's Confidence in Squad
The transfer deadline closes late on Thursday afternoon, but McCann dismissed suggestions he might need to strengthen his defence in the market.
"I'm not even thinking about that right now," he said. "I still completely believe in this squad and that what we're doing will bear fruit. I'm positive of that.
"I'm really bullish for the fact that I know it looks a bit vulnerable. When we concede a goal, you can see that maybe knocks us. But we need to just find that little bit of steel.
"That's a dressing room down there that's hurting right now. I think the squad we've assembled is more than good enough to start picking up wins and, once we do, then we'll catch fire.
"I'm convinced of that - I know that's easy to say for me right now. You're probably thinking we're on the back of three defeats in the league, but I'm convinced by what is sitting down there. They just need to make sure that they're performing."
Deas Injury Concern
McCann is hoping Robbie Deas has not suffered lasting damage after he limped off early in the first half.
"I don't know how he but he's got a moonboot on right now, so we'll have a look at him over the weekend and see how it is," McCann said. "I've not really got any news other than that, but obviously it was severe enough to come off."
