Firefighters are battling a massive blaze at Dalton Mills on Dalton Lane in Keighley, West Yorkshire, after the textile mill caught fire at around 8pm on Saturday. Multiple fire crews from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are at the scene, supported by West Yorkshire Police.
Road closures and cordons in place
Dalton Lane is currently closed to all traffic, and cordons have been set up around the area. West Yorkshire Police posted on Facebook: "Please be aware that Dalton Mills are currently on fire. Dalton Lane in Keighley is currently closed to all traffic, as our colleagues from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are working to bring the situation under control."
The force added: "We advise people to stay away from the area, and residents in the vicinity to keep all doors and windows closed."
History of fires at the site
According to reports, the site has suffered numerous fires over the last four years. More than 100 firefighters battled a blaze in March 2022, and another major fire broke out in July 2025, with 12 fire engines sent to the scene. The site also previously suffered a serious fire in 2011.
West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service posted a statement saying: "At approximately 8:00pm, we were called to a large fire involving Dalton Mills, Keighley. We currently have 12 fire engines at the incident as firefighters continue to tackle the large incident."
Public advised to avoid area
The service added: "Please avoid the area while emergency crews work at the scene. Residents nearby are advised to keep their windows and doors closed until further notice. Thank you for your cooperation. Further incident updates to follow."
