Man shot dead in Enfield pub; CCTV released

A man has been shot dead at a pub in north London. The fatal shooting took place last night at the Sun & Woolpack on Hertford Road, in the Freezy Water area of Enfield. Officers and paramedics were called to the scene at around 9.30pm, with the 35-year-old victim treated for gunshot wounds.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed. No arrests have yet been made.

CCTV Appeal

CCTV enquiries have identified a person detectives would like to speak to in connection with the investigation. While unclear at this early stage whether this was a man or woman, or if the person is wearing a disguise, detectives are urging anyone who recognises the person in the image to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, who is leading the investigation, said: "Our thoughts are with the victim's family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time as they begin to come to terms with this senseless act.

"We are releasing CCTV images of a person we would like to identify and speak to in connection with the investigation as our enquiries progress swiftly.

"We are also particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have CCTV, doorbell, dashcam or mobile phone footage that could assist our enquiries. Even information that may seem insignificant could prove crucial. No piece of information is too small, and I would urge anyone who believes they can help to contact police."

Police Response

Chief Superintendent Anna Mccartney, who leads policing in the area, said: "We recognise the concern local people will have and can reassure them that our officers are working urgently to identify and trace those responsible.

"Serious violence has no place in our community, and the Met remains fully committed to tackling gun crime. We are determined to establish exactly what happened and provide much needed answers for those affected by this tragic incident."
