Man named in Salford murder as accused appears in court

A man found dead in Salford has been named as Yuri Felipe, after the person accused of killing him appeared in court.

Officers launched a murder investigation after being called out to reports of a disturbance on Kempster Gardens, in Lower Broughton, at around 5.19am on Wednesday, August 12. A man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. He has since been named in court documents as Yuri Felipe.

Accused appears in court

A 37-year-old man has been charged with murdering Mr Felipe. Gabriel Joao Gurney Sacutti, of Bridge Road, Coalville, Leicestershire, appeared in Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court this morning (August 28).

He has been remanded in custody ahead of his next court appearance.

Next hearing scheduled

Gurney is due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Tuesday, September 1. He is yet to enter a plea to the charge.
