A 39-year-old man is receiving treatment after he was allegedly assaulted with a bladed weapon in Eston, Cleveland Police said in a statement issued today.
The alleged assault happened some two miles away from a fatal crash on the A66 in Middlesbrough on Saturday, which killed seven people.
Police called to Sedgemoor Road
Speaking about today's incident, Cleveland Police said they were called to an address on Sedgemoor Road at around noon on Thursday.

No arrests have been made and inquiries are ongoing, the force added.
