A man has died after being struck by three cars on the M56 motorway in Cheshire, prompting the closure of the road for several hours.
The incident occurred between junction 12 at Runcorn and junction 14 at Hapsford at around 12.50am. Emergency services, including Cheshire Police officers and paramedics, attended the scene.
Three vehicles involved
Emergency crews found that the man had been hit by a black Dacia Duster, a red Kia Niro, and a black Ford Focus.
The motorway remained closed for hours this morning as investigations were carried out. Further details have not yet been released.
