A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a 22-year-old man in Hounslow, west London. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Awap Halouf, of Hambro Road, Lambeth, south London, was arrested in Cardiff on Sunday and later charged with murder and possession of a blade in a public place.
Details of the Incident
Police were called at approximately 1:47 am on Tuesday, June 30, to reports of a stabbing at the junction of Bath Road and Great Southwest Road in Hounslow. Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service. There, they found 22-year-old Haruun Hassan suffering from serious injuries. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Haruun's family are being supported by specialist officers, the Met Police said. An investigation has been launched and remains ongoing.
Suspect and Court Appearance
Awap Halouf was remanded into custody and appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court in south-west London on Tuesday, July 7. In addition to murder, he faces a charge of possession of a blade in a public place.
A 21-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of murder in Cardiff on Sunday. She has since been bailed pending further inquiries.
The Metropolitan Police have not released further details at this time.
