Man charged after homeless tents urinated on in Glasgow

Police were called to Glassford Street in Glasgow city centre at 3.55am on Saturday, 1 August, following a report of a disturbance.

Incident and arrest

Homeless Project Scotland said two men urinated on street tents provided to the city's homeless before attacking charity staff who tried to intervene. A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date.

A spokesperson for Homeless Project Scotland said: "This behavior is disgraceful and will not be tolerated."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.55am on Saturday, 1 August, 2026, we were called to a report of a disturbance in the Glassford Street area of Glasgow. A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date."
