Man, 35, fatally shot in Enfield pub attack; police release CCTV

The Metropolitan Police have named the victim of a fatal shooting at a pub in Enfield, North London, and released a CCTV image of a person they want to question. Erdem Mustafa, aged 35, was shot at a pub on Hertford Road on Monday, 19 October, at around 9.30pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene after being treated for gunshot wounds.

Police appeal for information

Detectives have renewed their appeal for information to assist the investigation, with CCTV released of a person they are keen to speak to. In their latest update, police said no arrests have been made at this stage, and enquiries remain ongoing into the circumstances surrounding Erdem's death.

Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, who is leading the investigation, said: "Our thoughts remain with Erdem's loved ones following what is undoubtedly a tragic and senseless act that led to his death."

Targeted attack believed

He added: "We recognise local concerns following this incident, and while detectives are keeping an open mind, we believe this to be a targeted attack."

"We are still urging those who have not yet come forward to do so if they have any information to share, or any CCTV, doorbell, dashcam or mobile phone footage. No detail is too small, and we urge anyone who can help to contact us."

Community reassurance and tribute

Chief Superintendent Anna McCartney, who leads policing in the area, said: "We continue to recognise the concern local people have after this incident and can reassure them that detectives are working at pace to find those responsible for Erdem's death. Extra officers remain in the area to offer further reassurance."

She added: "Serious violence has no place in our community. The Met is committed to tackling gun crime, and we are determined to hold those who seek to do serious harm to account."

Local publication Enfield Dispatch reported that several bunches of flowers had been left on the bridge over the Turkey Brook in tribute to the victim. It also reports that local shop owners only became aware of the incident after police arrived at the scene.
