A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.30pm on Friday, 10 July, 2026, we were called to a serious assault in the High Street area of Loanhead. Emergency services attended and a 21-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, 13 July."
