Mason Haynes, a long-time bodyguard for the Kardashians, Lewis Hamilton, and Kanye West, has died following a motorcycle crash in Hampshire. He was 52 years old.
Fatal Crash Details
The collision occurred on Saturday, July 4, on Farnham Road near Crondall, involving two Harley-Davidson motorcycles, a BMW X3, and a motorhome. Haynes died two days before his 53rd birthday.
Tributes Pour In
A GoFundMe page set up by family friend Annabel Bass to support Haynes' wife describes him as a 'giant' with an 'even bigger heart.' Bass wrote: 'Whether you knew him for thirty years or thirty minutes, Mason had a remarkable ability to make you feel like family. If you knew Mason, you’ll know he never measured people by what they had. He measured them by how they showed up.'
Another friend said: 'The world has been robbed of that rare thing, a genuinely good man.'
Celebrity Friends Mourn
Taylor Momsen, singer of The Pretty Reckless and actress, called Haynes her 'confidant and one of my closest friends.' She wrote: 'When someone knows every dark secret about you and never judges, spends 24 hours a day with you seven days a week, you form a bond that is hard to explain.'
Career and Philosophy
Haynes began his security career in his twenties while studying, moving into private security at London luxury venues. He later started his own business, working with celebrities and sports stars worldwide. He also founded Bodyguards Against Bullying.
In an interview with Silver Swan Recruitment's Philippa Swan, Haynes said: 'Many bodyguards make the mistake of thinking that they’re friends with their clients. And as soon as you blur the line between professionalism and friendship, I think you’re in serious trouble.'
Haynes was a custom motorbike enthusiast and earned respect for his professionalism and calm presence. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, and a son.
