Jaipur School Tragedy: 9-Year-Old Girl's Death Sparks Outrage Over Bullying and Negligence
Jaipur School Tragedy: 9-Year-Old Girl Dies After Bullying

A nine-year-old girl died after falling from a school building in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, on November 1, 2025. The Class 4 pupil was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Her parents have released classroom CCTV footage that they claim shows relentless bullying by classmates and a complete failure by teachers to intervene.

Parents Release Harrowing CCTV Footage

The footage, shared by the grieving family, captures the final moments inside the classroom. According to the parents, the video initially shows the girl entering the room normally, greeting a classmate, and participating in a dance activity. However, the situation quickly deteriorated. The parents allege the footage shows their daughter being repeatedly targeted by other students. Visibly distressed, she approaches a teacher before exiting the classroom for the last time, as reported by HT.

Allegations Against School and Police

The family has slammed both the school and local authorities, claiming their pleas for help were ignored. They allege the school failed to protect the child despite visible signs of distress. Furthermore, they accuse local police of botching the initial investigation under the heavy influence of the school's management, ignoring key evidence from the classroom.

The Rajasthan Police filed a chargesheet in court nearly eight months after the incident. However, the family is demanding an impartial investigation and severe action under the Juvenile Justice Act, including formal abetment charges against those responsible.

Outrage and Calls for Reform

The tragedy has sparked fury in India, with child safety campaigners demanding an overhaul of private school regulations. Arvind Agrawal, state president of the Sanyukt Abhibhavak Sangh parent association, stated that the case highlights a shocking lack of accountability in schools. He has demanded strict enforcement of child safety norms and a crackdown on negligence.

Abhishek Jain, a spokesperson for the organisation, added that the case exposes dangerous gaps in child protection. He warned that all schools must urgently implement measures including strict anti-bullying policies, fully-qualified counsellors, comprehensive CCTV surveillance, and effective grievance systems to prevent future tragedies.
