Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon on Wednesday killed at least 10 people, in the deadliest violation of the ceasefire that ended last year's war.
Deadly Strikes
The strikes hit several villages in the south, according to Lebanese security sources. Among the dead were three civilians, including a child, and seven militants from the Hezbollah group.
The Israeli military said it targeted Hezbollah positions in response to a rocket attack on northern Israel earlier in the day. No group has claimed responsibility for the rocket fire.
Ceasefire Under Strain
The ceasefire, brokered by the United States and France, has been fragile since it took effect in November. Both sides have accused each other of violations.
Wednesday's strikes were the deadliest since the truce began, raising fears of a return to full-scale conflict.
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the strikes, calling them a "blatant violation" of the ceasefire. He urged the international community to pressure Israel to stop its aggression.
