Police in Melbourne, Australia, are searching for a man whose attempted sexual assault of two women was foiled by their pack of eight dogs. The incident occurred in broad daylight on Tuesday, July 14, in Kooyong, along Gardiners Creek.
Attack and Escape
The two women were walking their dogs when a man allegedly jumped out from bushes and grabbed one of them. She broke free, and the man then targeted the second woman, who also fought him off. During the struggle, the dogs turned on the attacker, chasing him away. Footage recorded by one woman shows six dogs pursuing the man, barking and nipping at him. A Blue Heeler is seen jumping up and biting the suspect, tearing his trousers. The man fled under the Monash Freeway as the dogs gave chase.
Suspect Description
The suspect is described as African in appearance, wearing a black tracksuit, grey hooded top, white socks, slides, and carrying a large bright blue backpack. Police are investigating the suspected sexual assault and urge anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
