Health Influencer Nurse Solomon Shot Dead in Robbery

A popular health influencer and nurse, Lartey Solomon, known online as "Nurse Solomon," was shot and killed during an alleged robbery in Oakland, California. The 33-year-old father of an 11-year-old daughter had built a loyal following by sharing medical advice and health tips on social media, amassing over one million views.

Incident Details

According to relatives, Solomon and a friend were walking to their cars after leaving a nightclub in downtown Oakland in the early hours of 31 May. A man allegedly demanded the chain around Solomon's neck before opening fire. Solomon died at the scene.

His brother, Emmanuel Solomon, said: "He was scared of guns. For him to die of gun violence, that's sad and really tough for us."

Suspect Charged

Shacory Carnell Daniels, a 39-year-old suspect, has been charged with murder, attempted robbery, firearm discharge, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held without bail and is due back in court on 30 June.

Family and Legacy

Solomon immigrated from Ghana before pursuing a career in healthcare. He worked at facilities in the Bay Area, where he was remembered for his compassion. His sister-in-law, Nana Ekua Solomon, said: "Lartey was not just a headline. What Lartey was doing online wasn't for financial reasons, it was his passion. We want his legacy to still live."

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support his daughter and family in the US and Ghana.
