Girl, 11, airlifted after life-changing injuries in Devon crash

An 11-year-old girl has suffered life-changing injuries in a crash on the A30 in Devon and was airlifted to hospital. The collision happened eastbound near Tedburn St Mary, at the Fingle Glen junction, at 12.40pm on Thursday.

The crash involved a Volkswagen Polo and a Ford Ranger. The girl, from Monmouth in South Wales, was a passenger in the Polo. Devon and Cornwall Police said she was taken to Bristol Children's Hospital by air ambulance, where she remains.

Other casualties taken to hospital

The female driver and two children from the same car were taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with minor injuries. The woman remains in hospital. All three victims are also from Monmouth, according to Wales Online.

The A30 was closed following the incident and fully reopened in both directions at 8.40pm the same day.

Police appeal for witnesses

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Officers from the Roads Policing Team are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward."
