Four men stabbed near Covent Garden, woman arrested

Four men were stabbed near Covent Garden in central London on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a major emergency response and the arrest of a woman.

Incident details

Police were called to reports of a stabbing on Endell Street at around 12:27 BST. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance. Social media users posted photographs of an air ambulance landing at nearby Trafalgar Square.

The victims, aged 34, 39, 42, and 52, were found with stab wounds and assessed at the scene by paramedics. They have since been taken to hospital, and police await an update on their injuries.

Arrest and investigation

A 47-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and assault. She remains in custody.

Police have established a scene on Endell Street and the surrounding areas. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting CAD3449/05AUG.

The London Ambulance Service said it was called at 12:29 PM and sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer, also dispatching London's Air Ambulance. Four patients were treated at the scene and taken to a major trauma centre as a priority by road.
