A gang of youths wearing balaclavas caused widespread chaos across a UK town over the weekend, smashing windows, setting fires, and hurling rocks at passing vehicles. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have launched an investigation into the series of incidents that occurred on Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, in the Dukesgate and Amblecote areas of Little Hulton, Salford.
Police Identify Several Suspects
Police believe the suspects are aged between 13 and 17. Sergeant Jack Edwards of GMP's Little Hulton neighbourhood team confirmed that several individuals have been identified. He issued a stern warning to parents, stating they can expect a home visit if their child is involved in criminal activity.
Sergeant Edwards said: "This behaviour puts members of the public at significant risk and will not be tolerated. I want to reassure the community that we have already identified several individuals involved."
Home Visits Planned
Officers will visit the homes of those responsible over the coming days, alongside partners including housing services, to take appropriate action. Sergeant Edwards added: "A message to parents and guardians: If your child is going out in groups, wearing balaclavas, riding motorbikes, and becoming involved in criminality within our communities - you can expect a visit."
He urged parents to speak with their children about their behaviour and the consequences of their actions. Police are also asking anyone with concerns to contact them as soon as possible.
Community Reassurance
GMP remains committed to keeping Little Hulton safe and will continue to take firm, proactive action against those responsible for anti-social behaviour. The force encourages residents to report any information or concerns via the usual channels.
