A father tossed his two children from a multi-storey parking garage before killing himself in a murder-suicide that police said was 'no accident'. Patrick Lynch, 42, his son James, 8, and daughter Caroline, 6, were found in the affluent Pittsburgh suburb of Mt Lebanon on Tuesday afternoon, Penn Live reported.
Mother's tribute to 'my angels'
CBS reported on a Facebook post written by the children's mother, Anna Lynch. She claimed that her husband had been laid off in August and had become depressed. He agreed to see a therapist and had an appointment booked for Wednesday.
The post added: 'Rest in peace my angels. James may you ski all the bowls and Caroline may you eat all the skittles and play in your own castle made of slime. Best friends forever.'
Community fundraiser launched
A GoFundMe set up for the mother said: 'Last night, these 2 beautiful, perfect children lost their lives in the most unimaginable way. No mother should ever have to experience this kind of pain. Especially Anna, who devoted her life to her family and to the community. To know her is to love her. Nothing I write here will bring her babies back and give her any sense of justice or peace. If we, her family and friends, can ease the financial burden of having to bury her children and her husband, it would be a relief.'
Police confirm murder-suicide
First responders tried to administer CPR at the scene, but all three were declared dead at the scene from injuries suffered in an 'apparent fall', the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office said. 'Preliminary information suggests that this incident is a murder-suicide,' the county police department confirmed.
'Everybody in the Mt. Lebanon community will know somebody involved in this incident,' Haberman added. 'We really want to send our condolences.'
