Fat Tony U-Turns on Beckham Wedding Claims, Favoring Beckhams

DJ Fat Tony, who was seen as a key witness supporting Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz in their feud with David and Victoria Beckham, has performed a dramatic U-turn. In a recent interview, he blamed the ITV show This Morning for the controversy surrounding the wedding dance incident, rather than Victoria Beckham, and praised the Beckham family.

Fat Tony's Original Claims

Earlier this year, Fat Tony appeared on This Morning and claimed that singer Marc Anthony had instructed 'the most beautiful woman in the room' to come to the dance floor and name-dropped Victoria, leaving bride Nicola Peltz upset. He alleged that Marc Anthony shouted for Brooklyn to take hold of his mother's hips, calling the timing 'inappropriate' and causing Nicola to flee the reception in tears. This appeared to validate Brooklyn's explosive January Instagram statement, where he accused his parents of caring more about their brand and alleged Victoria danced 'inappropriately' at his wedding.

The U-Turn

Now, Fat Tony has shifted blame. 'It's always sad when there's a rift in any family. It just so happened that I got dragged into one. I went on [This Morning] to change a narrative of the word 'inappropriate' and where it was going for Victoria, where it was going for Brooklyn. It was not a nice situation,' he said. He added that the family 'are incredible and David and Victoria brought up those kids impeccably.'

A source told the Mail that the Beckhams are furious at the DJ's initial comments. 'Fat Tony was seen as one of the main witnesses against Victoria at the wedding and very pro-Brooklyn and Nicola. Now look at how he's changed his tune. The Beckhams are furious at all of this. Why on earth go on and slag them off? They were always close to Tony. He was their go-to DJ, but when they went with Hale Zero, [another DJ] that changed.'

PR Expert Analysis

Mayah Riaz, a PR to the stars, told the Mirror that Fat Tony's new comments will make the public 'reassess the whole narrative.' She said, 'From a crisis communications perspective, I'd say this is arguably a bigger win for David and Victoria than it is for Brooklyn and Nicola.'

Riaz explained that David and Victoria's strategy of silence has been powerful. 'I always tell my clients that in PR terms, silence can be more powerful than rebuttal. While Brooklyn and Nicola have kept making their grievances public, David and Victoria have projected restraint and family loyalty.'

She added that the Beckham brand is built on unity and resilience, and every time they refuse to retaliate, they reinforce those values. 'The danger for Brooklyn and Nicola will be that the story becomes less about their concerns and more about why the feud is still being played out in public.'

Ongoing Family Tensions

The feud continues, with Brooklyn recently posting a DoorDash advert seen as taking aim at his parents, and David Beckham posting a Father's Day tribute including Brooklyn, which a source said left Brooklyn 'furious.' Meanwhile, 14-year-old Harper Beckham visited Brooklyn's home unannounced but found no one home, leaving a handwritten note. A rep for Brooklyn and Nicola claimed the visit was 'choreographed for the cameras.'
