A 'truly heartbroken' family has paid tribute to a dad of two who died in a collision on the A1(M) in County Durham. Ryan Scarth was driving on the major road at around 2.20am on Saturday, August 22, when he was involved in the fatal crash.
The 31-year-old, of Sherburn Village, sustained critical injuries in the incident and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. His family, who are being supported by specially trained officers from Durham Constabulary, has released an emotional tribute to him.

The family has said: "The loss of Ryan has truly broken us as a family. Ryan was a son, daddy, brother, uncle, and partner. He lived for his two boys, and his memory will live on through them.
"Ryan has not only left a huge void in our lives but in his friends and the local community too. He could walk into a room with his cheeky smile and light it up. We are truly heartbroken. We will love you forever and always."
Appeal for witnesses
Investigating officers are continuing to make enquiries into the incident and have said that they would like to speak to any witnesses, or those who may have dashcam footage of the collision.
