Video footage has captured the shocking moment a car drove into a busy restaurant in a popular tourist hotspot in Greece, injuring three patrons.
The footage shows a 45-year-old speeding into the diner in Evosmos, Thessaloniki, early on Sunday. The vehicle can be seen reversing after the collision as diners, armed with chairs, ran towards it.
Breathalyser Test Shows Intoxication
A breathalyser test was administered at the scene and reportedly showed that the driver was intoxicated when the incident occurred.
Large flowerpots placed around the restaurant stopped the car from injuring more customers.
Owner's Reaction
The owner of the restaurant said: "If we didn't have planters, we would have funerals."
She said she left the diner a few minutes prior and rushed back when she heard about the incident.
"I saw terror and panic, it was like watching a movie," she said.
The driver was arrested at the scene and the three injured patrons were rushed to hospital.
