A cyclist was left with serious injuries following a crash on a busy road in Bury. The incident occurred on Brandlesholme Road near the junction with Woodhill Road at around 1pm on July 7.
Details of the Collision
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that a car was involved in a collision with a bicycle. The male cyclist was taken to hospital from the scene. In an update issued the following morning, a GMP spokesperson stated that the cyclist suffered serious injuries. However, the injuries were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Road Closure and Police Presence
A stretch of Brandlesholme Road, north of the town centre, was cordoned off yesterday afternoon following the serious collision. Photographs from the scene showed a significant police presence, along with an ambulance. A cordon was established at the busy junction, with a car visible within the police tape. Bury Council advised the public to avoid the area during the response.
