A crash in County Durham has led to a driver being taken to hospital after a one-vehicle collision on the A691 in the Sniperley area. The incident occurred just after 1.15pm today (June 16), prompting a response from emergency services.

The driver, a woman in her 50s, was transported to the University Hospital of North Durham for further treatment following the crash. Emergency Services Response
A Durham Constabulary spokesperson stated: "We were called to reports of a one-vehicle road traffic collision on the A691 at Sniperley just after 1.15pm today (June 16). The driver of the car involved, a woman in her 50s, was taken to hospital after suffering a suspected medical episode. The road is currently closed and drivers are asked to find an alternative route."
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were called to a road traffic incident on the A691 at Sniperley, at 1.10pm on 16 June. We dispatched a clinical team leader and two double crewed ambulances. One patient was taken to University Hospital of North Durham."
