Dramatic footage has emerged showing the moment courageous commuters wrestled a knifeman to the ground at Huntingdon railway station following a terrifying daylight stabbing.
The violent incident unfolded on Monday afternoon as passengers waited for trains, with witnesses describing scenes of panic as the attacker produced a blade and began threatening people on the platform.
Brave Intervention Prevents Further Violence
According to British Transport Police, multiple members of the public intervened to disarm the suspect before officers could arrive at the scene. Their quick thinking and collective bravery likely prevented more serious injuries during the alarming confrontation.
One witness, who asked to remain anonymous, told reporters: "People were screaming and running in different directions. Then I saw several men tackle him to the ground. They were incredibly brave - he still had the knife in his hand."
Emergency Response and Arrest
Paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service rushed to the station following multiple emergency calls around 4:30 PM. They treated one victim for stab wounds before transporting them to hospital for further treatment. Police confirmed the victim's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The suspect, a man in his 30s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon. He remains in police custody while investigations continue.

Detective Inspector James Gray from British Transport Police commended the public's response, stating: "This was a frightening incident for everyone present, and we're thankful that more people weren't seriously injured. The bravery shown by members of the public in disarming the suspect undoubtedly prevented further harm."
He added: "We understand incidents like this cause concern in the community, and we'll have additional officers in the area to provide reassurance to passengers and staff."
Station Operations Disrupted
The attack caused significant disruption to rail services through Huntingdon station, with Greater Anglia and Thameslink services affected during the evening rush hour. The station was temporarily closed while forensic teams conducted their investigation.
Network Rail officials confirmed that normal service resumed the following morning, though some passengers reported residual delays throughout the evening.
British Transport Police have appealed for any witnesses who haven't yet come forward, particularly those who may have captured footage of the incident, to contact them immediately.
