Burnham branded 'absolute moron' in migrant housing rant

Reform UK chairman Lee Anderson has launched a furious attack on Andy Burnham over plans to house illegal migrants in villages across the UK, branding the Labour leader an "absolute moron" and warning of increased sexual attacks.

Village housing plans spark anger

The Labour leader sparked outrage last week when he said middle-class families should "play their part" by accepting asylum seeker accommodation near their homes. This is reportedly being planned for several villages across the UK, including Piddington, an Oxfordshire village with a population of around 400, which is set to accommodate 1,250 male migrants at a neighbouring former Ministry of Defence (MoD) site.

Speaking to Kevin O'Sullivan on TalkTV, Anderson said he had visited sites in Suffolk and Norfolk before slamming Burnham for allowing men who "don't respect our women and young girls" to be housed around the country.

Anderson's warning of rising crime

He fumed: "It wouldn't be so bad if these illegal migrants were detained securely in these camps. We all know what's going to happen, they're all going to be pushed in on a daily basis to nosey around and cause problems.

"We've got HMO's in Thetford as well, right next to a local primary school. I don't know what's up with the government and the previous government, these men are coming in from backward cultures.

"They come from countries that don't respect our women and young girls and there will be more sexual attacks, more rapes and god forbid, there will be more murders."

Direct attack on Burnham

The Reform UK chairman added: "We know it's going to happen and all this government keeps doing is saying they're going to spread them around the country."

He remarked: "I tell you what, Burnham, if you're listening to this, because you're an absolute moron. You are spreading the problem all over the country and it's going to get worse.

"People are going to get attacked, people are going to get beaten up and sexually molested by these people that you, Burnham, are importing into this country."
