British Woman Arrested for Zombie Knife Murder in Thailand

Authorities in Thailand have arrested a British woman on suspicion of murdering her husband with a so-called zombie knife at their luxury holiday home in Pattaya City, Bang Lamung district. The 33-year-old British businessman was found dead in the shower, with a 20-inch blade discovered in a sink, wiped clean. Police were alerted after a friend raised the alarm when the victim could not be reached.

Discovery and Investigation

Upon arrival, officers observed blood stains on furniture and in the bathroom of the property. The wife, whose name has not been released, had cuts on her fingers and was questioned at the scene. She is now being held in custody as inquiries continue. According to The Sun, an initial examination suggested the man had been dead for at least six hours before police arrived.

Police Colonel Nattapon Phongsuksakul stated that the woman denied murdering her husband, but he found it "difficult to accept that claim" due to the stab wounds on the victim's back. He added that there was evidence the wife had attempted to clean up the blood stains before authorities arrived.

Background and Context

Neighbours reported that the couple had moved into the home only two weeks ago and were known to use cannabis. Thailand became the first country in Asia to decriminalise marijuana, but officials are now considering restricting its use to those with a valid medical certificate. The incident is being treated as a murder case, with police continuing to gather evidence.
