A boy has died after being involved in a collision with a lorry in Essex, police have confirmed. Officers were called to Epping Road in Ongar at approximately 4:20pm on Friday following reports of a crash involving a lorry and a child. The child was taken to hospital but tragically died from his injuries.
Driver Arrested and Bailed
A 48-year-old man from Derbyshire was initially arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injuries by dangerous driving. Following the child's death in hospital, Essex Police stated that the man has since been rearrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been bailed until mid-September while the investigation continues.
