Boy, 3, critical after falling from window in Rochdale

A three-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital after falling from a first-floor window in Rochdale on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Spotland Tops, in the Cutgate area of the town, shortly after 4.15pm. Police and paramedics responded, and an air ambulance was also seen landing nearby.

Child taken to hospital in critical condition

Greater Manchester Police confirmed the child was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

A force spokesperson said: "We were called today (22 August 2026) at around 4.16pm to reports [of] concern [for] the welfare of a child on Spotland Tops, Rochdale.

"Emergency services attended and the child was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains in a critical condition. Enquiries into the full circumstances around this incident are ongoing."
