A 13-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a stabbing at a Taco Bell restaurant in Rochdale town centre, with two teenage boys arrested. Emergency services were called to Riverside Walk shortly after 6pm on Saturday following reports of the incident.
Police attend scene after reports of stabbing
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed the boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Two teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of a bladed article.
A large police presence was seen around the restaurant, with the fast-food venue cordoned off. An air ambulance also landed nearby as emergency services responded. Pictures from the scene showed officers outside the restaurant, while Crime Scene Investigation officers were later pictured carrying out enquiries. The incident is understood to have taken place inside the Taco Bell restaurant.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called to reports of a stabbing at 6.09pm on Riverside Walk. Boy, 13, taken to hospital with serious injuries."
The spokesperson added: "Two teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of a bladed article. Enquiries are ongoing."

The Taco Bell restaurant remained closed on Saturday evening while police continued their investigation. Enquiries are ongoing, with investigators remaining at the scene.
