A body has been discovered in the search for a teacher who was facing allegations of sexual misconduct before he went missing on the Isle of Lewis.
Police Scotland have confirmed that the body of a man was found in the water in the Lochs area of the Isle just before 1pm on Thursday, June 18. Formal identification is still pending, however, the family of the missing individual, Andrew Yearley, 53, has been notified.
The music teacher, who worked at Nicolson Institute, appeared in court in January charged with possessing indecent images. He entered no plea and was released on bail. It is believed a hidden camera had allegedly been found in school toilets, reports the Daily Record.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland stated: "Emergency services attended and the body was recovered. Formal identification has yet to take place, however the family of missing man Andrew Yearley, has been informed. The death is being treated as unexplained but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."

Meanwhile, a twisted former secondary school teacher and his partner have been jailed after being convicted of the murder and sexual abuse of a 13-month-old baby. Jamie Varley, 37, adopted Preston Davey at nine months old with his partner, former public school pupil and financial sales manager, John McGowan-Fazakerley, 32, and brought him to their home in Blackpool, Lancashire in April 2023.
However, in the just under four months he was in their care, he was regularly mistreated, had indecent images and videos taken of him, sexually abused and physically assaulted, suffering 40 traumatic injuries, the defendant's trial at Preston Crown Court has heard.
High Court judge Mr Justice Turner sentenced Varley to a whole life order for the murder and sexual abuse of Preston. His partner McGowan-Fazakerley has been sentenced to 25 years for sexual assault and allowing the death of a child.
