Biker thrown onto car windscreen in Glasgow crash footage

Shocking dashcam footage has emerged showing a motorcyclist being thrown from her bike onto a car windscreen after a driver turned into her path on Pollokshaws Road in Glasgow.

Crash details

The incident occurred when motorcyclist Eve was navigating through slow-moving traffic on Pollokshaws Road in the south of the city. The video shows a driver suddenly turning right across Eve's path. As she drives up behind the vehicle, she is struck by the side of the car.

The impact throws Eve, who was wearing a black puffer jacket, grey leggings and a helmet, from her bike. She bounces off the windscreen and suffers a hard fall to the ground. She can be seen looking up in astonishment as she puts her hands to her face.

Aftermath and legal action

A pedestrian who witnessed the crash runs to her aid while calling emergency services. Motorcycle Law Scotland, the Peebles-based motorcycle claims firm, said lawyers representing the biker shared the dashcam footage. They stated that the insurer initially blamed the biker and offered a 50/50 settlement.

The lawyers obtained the dashcam footage and managed to secure a settlement more than three times the value of the original offer. A spokesperson said: "The dashcam footage told a very different story. It showed the driver failed to properly observe before turning and was distracted moments before the collision."

"By challenging the insurer's assumptions and preparing the case for court, we secured a settlement worth more than three times the original offer."
