A motorcyclist is in a critical condition following a serious collision on St Helens Road in Bolton. Emergency services were called at around 10.18pm on Saturday, July 4, after reports of a crash involving an off-road bike and a stationary car.
Rider in Critical Condition
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that the rider suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition as of Sunday afternoon. Officers were already in the area at the time of the collision and quickly provided first aid.
Arrests at the Scene
While officers worked at the scene, two men reportedly hurled abusive language towards police and refused to comply with instructions. Multiple attempts were made to de-escalate the situation, including encouraging the pair to leave, before they were arrested on suspicion of obstructing police and a Section 5 Public Order Act offence.
A GMP spokesperson said: "At around 10:18pm yesterday evening (July 4), officers responded to reports of a collision involving an off-road bike and a stationary car on St Helens Road, Bolton. Officers were already in the area at the time of the collision and were quickly on scene to provide assistance and administer first aid to the injured party. The rider suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition. Two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of obstructing police while officers attempted to assist the injured male."
