Berlin's annual Christopher Street Day (CSD) Pride parade was called off on Saturday after a car crashed into a crowd of people near the event route. Police confirmed several people were injured and the driver was taken into custody.

The incident occurred in the neighbourhood of Schöneberg, close to where the parade was scheduled to pass. According to police, a vehicle drove into a group of bystanders before coming to a stop. Emergency services responded quickly, and the injured were treated at the scene or taken to hospitals.
Response
Organisers of the CSD parade decided to cancel the event, citing safety concerns. 'We cannot guarantee the safety of our participants under these circumstances,' a spokesperson said. Police are investigating the motive behind the crash and have not yet classified it as an act of terrorism. The area remains cordoned off as forensic teams examine the scene.
