Son of Notorious Adult Star Faces Animal Cruelty Charges
Brett Anthony Bellera, the 25-year-old son of Amy Fisher, and his girlfriend Jennifer Armenti, 36, have been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals after allegedly killing a cat using a microwave. The cat, named Reaper, died from "involuntary heat exposure" according to a forensic examination by an animal charity, which indicated the animal was either cooked in a microwave, submerged in hot water, or exposed to hot vapor.
Details of the Incident
The authorities were alerted to the cat's death by a friend of the couple on December 15, 2024, according to arrest affidavits. Armenti initially claimed she found the cat dead in the bathroom and believed it had consumed cleaning products. However, animal care employees discovered the cat on a back patio in a large pool of blood. After a lengthy investigation, Armenti was arrested on Wednesday.
Background of Amy Fisher
Bellera is the son of Amy Fisher, who gained infamy as the 'Long Island Lolita' after shooting her lover's wife, Mary Jo Buttafuoco, in the face at age 17 in 1992. Mary Jo Buttafuoco survived but suffered permanent facial paralysis. Her husband, Joey Buttafuoco, served four months for statutory rape. Fisher was imprisoned for seven years and paroled in 1999.
Life After Prison
After her release, Fisher married a retired police officer, had children, and moved to Florida. The family later returned to Long Island after her children were ostracized by other parents. Following a divorce, Fisher worked as a stripper and adult film star.
