A 55-year-old man shot dead on a London street on Friday night has been named as Simon Whyte. Police were called to the shooting on West End Close in Stonebridge shortly after 9.30pm, but the gunman remains at large.

Paramedics administered first aid at the scene, but Mr Whyte could not be saved and was pronounced dead. Enquiries are well underway, and my team is working at pace to determine the circumstances that led to his tragic death.'
