A 12-year-old boy who vanished in Oklahoma has been found alive and safe after a tense search lasting seven days, authorities have confirmed.
Week-Long Search Ends in Relief
Ryan Davis, who was first reported missing on January 2, 2026, was successfully located on Tuesday, January 13. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) confirmed the child's safe recovery, which was facilitated by the volunteer group United Cajun Navy.
Officials expressed profound relief at the positive outcome, following a disappearance they had publicly labelled as "suspicious". The case had drawn significant concern from both law enforcement and the local community.
Parents Arrested on Serious Charges
In a shocking twist to the investigation, the boy's mother, Kimberly Cole, 33, and stepfather, George Cole, 43, were taken into custody days earlier on January 7.
They now face serious criminal charges, including child abuse and child sexual abuse. The OSBI stated unequivocally that the Cole family home was "not safe" for Ryan's return.
Focus Turns to Child's Welfare
With his parents under arrest, authorities have confirmed that Ryan Davis will not be returning to their care. Chickasha Police Chief Goebel Music emphasised the immediate priority is the boy's wellbeing.
Chief Music stressed the necessity for Ryan to receive appropriate medical and emotional care following his week-long ordeal. The focus has now shifted entirely to supporting the child's recovery and ensuring his future safety and stability.
