Dorset Police were called at 9.13pm on Thursday, 18 December 2025, to reports of a crash involving a Range Rover and a blue Renault Clio. The incident occurred on the A30 between Castle Town Way and Oborne Road, close to Sherborne.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, rushed to the scene. The casualties included two boys, aged seven and nine, and a woman in her 30s. All three were transported to hospital by air ambulance and are being treated for serious injuries. A man in his 30s was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Arrest and Ongoing Investigation
Following the collision, officers arrested a man from Yeovil, believed to be in his 40s, on suspicion of driving offences. He was also taken to hospital for treatment, although his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
The A30 remains closed in the area as specialist officers from the Roads Policing Team conduct a thorough investigation of the scene. The closure is necessary to allow for a detailed forensic examination.

He concluded by thanking the public for their patience during the necessary road closures, which are vital for the emergency response and subsequent investigation.
