A serious crash has closed a stretch of the A4119 Ely Valley Road in Talbot Green, Rhondda Cynon Taf, in both directions, causing severe rush hour disruption.
The road is shut between the Talbot Green cross roads traffic lights and the Costa Coffee/Welsh Blood Service roundabout. South Wales Police said the road is expected to remain closed for some time.
Congestion building towards M4
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Significant queues are already reported, with congestion building back towards the M4 at Miskin.
A police spokesperson said heavy traffic is already building in the area as a result of the closure.
Road completely blocked
