Emergency services closed Shaftesbury Avenue in Timperley on Sunday evening after a three-vehicle crash left one person with minor injuries.
The fire brigade, Greater Manchester Police and the ambulance service attended the scene. The road was shut while crews dealt with the incident.
Three vehicles involved
According to Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS), the collision involved three vehicles. A spokesperson said: “At around 6.58pm on Sunday 2 August 2026, one fire engine from Wythenshawe Community Fire Station was called to attend a road traffic collision involving three vehicles on Shaftesbury Avenue, Altrincham. Crews arrived quickly and used a thermal imaging camera and other specialist equipment to make the vehicles safe. Firefighters also assisted North West Ambulance Service in assessing two casualties, with one person conveyed to hospital with minor injuries. Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 35 minutes.”
Greater Manchester Police has been approached for comment.
