Investigation and family tribute

South Wales Police continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Senior coroner Aled Gruffydd adjourned the inquest until July 6 next year.

In a statement released after the accident, Mr Bowron's family paid tribute to him, saying: “Wayne (BOW) was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, partner and friend. He was only 52 having been taken from us so suddenly. Nothing can express the loss that we are currently feeling as a family.

“Wayne was well known throughout Durham and would do anything for anyone. Wayne treated everyone like they were part of the family and had a heart of gold.

"Wayne loved his motorcycle and the friends he made throughout the motorcycle community. As a family our hearts are broken and there is a hole in all of our hearts that will never be filled.”
