All vehicles are being held on the M6 southbound near Wigan following a collision. Traffic is stopped on the carriageway near junction 23 at the East Lancs Road this afternoon (September 14).

The incident follows a collision south of the junction, according to the Inrix traffic monitoring service. Queues are building up in the area.
A post from Inrix said: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident on M6 Southbound between J23 A580 East Lancashire Road (Haydock) and J22 A49 Winwick Link Road (Newton Le Willows)."
